'One Year' to Clean Toxic Spill in Hungary

It will take an estimated year to clean up the remains of a the spilling of chemical waste in western Hungary.  Red sludge covers the land, an industrial toxic that leaked from a chemical reservoir.  This sludge is made up of water, mining waste, and heavy metal.  Millions of dollars are expected to aid the effort to clean up this mess.  The leak happened only 100 miles away from the nation's capital, Budapest.  It has affected about 15.4 square miles so far.  Emergency workers and volunteers are trying hard not to allow the sludge into bodies of water such as the near by river Danube.  So far, four people have died, 120 injured, and six people are still missing.  The toxic substance is causing burns on people skin.  Everyone living near the reservoir has had to evacuate their homes, an estimated 7,000.  Over 500 police men, military officers, and volunteers are there to help clean the streets, cars, and clothes of Hungarians affected by the spill.  In order to Many are upset due to the lack of communication from the company who spilled the sludge, MAL Rt.
