#1: Typhoon Megi Heads for China After Striking Philippines

On Monday, a typhoon hit the Philippines and Vietnam, taking the lives of at least 10 people in the Philippines and 31 in Vietnam, though this is a rising toll.  Megi, the typhoon, caused severe damage to homes and buildings in the island nation.  Now, forecasters predict that it will be hitting the southern coast of China by the weekend.  This warning has caused over 100,000 Chinese to evacuate.  A major concern is for the rice in these countries, an important economical export, is estimated to take a 10% damage, meaning that a tenth of the crop will be harmed.
